Logo Design: Concepts for Clients without Logos

Sometimes clients need a website before they’ve fully developed a brand identity. In these early stages, they may not yet have a logo, color palette, or visual style in mind. When this happens, I will create logo concepts, color schemes, and stylistic direction to help spark ideas and guide their decision-making. These options give clients a strong starting point and a clearer vision for how they want to present their business online.

These logos were designed during and after my tenure in the media services department of a regional internet services company.

Icon Design: Representing Three Separate Child Care Locations

The three images below represent different locations for a child care service provider in South Carolina. For each, I created a custom building illustration that reflects the actual exterior of the location, whether red siding, brick, or beige metal. I then incorporated the client’s logo along with playful, kid-friendly elements adapted from stock EPS files. The result is a set of vibrant, unique graphics tailored to the brand’s cheerful and welcoming personality.

Icon Design: Build, Promote, Engage, Manage

Sometimes, stock EPS files and imagery don’t offer the right visual solution to represent a business’s services. While it’s rare not to find something usable, there are times when a custom approach is needed. In those cases, I have designed original icons that align conceptually and visually with the overall look and feel of a website ensuring consistency, clarity, and a cohesive user experience.

Icon Design: Video Learning Series Completion Badges

The images below represent a series of badges designed for a video learning program. The first badge signals the start of the series, encouraging users to hit “play” and begin their learning journey. Each subsequent badge is awarded upon completion of a specific course: the second for a web course, the third for SEO, and the fourth for data entry. The final badge is earned once all courses in the series have been successfully completed.
